Hallgrímur Jensson is unique to the Icelandic music scene. As it is rare for classically trained instrumentalists to venture outside of their classical box, the few that do often become key players in genre-breaking bands.

Hallgrímur has composed and performed with classical orchestras, and a multitude of Icelandic rock ‘n roll bands, including the notorious doom/sludge metal act Myra. Needles to say he is one of the key ingredients in the Árstíðir sound. Alongside Árstíðir he continues to record and play with his unique band and long lasting love Malneirophrenia.

He is also one of Iceland’s most wanted session players, and frequently does work for the likes of Barði Jóhansson (Bang Gang) and Ólafur Arnalds.
