Colours of Ostrava, day 2

Colours of Ostrava is the biggest festival in the Czech Republic. It is literally situated in a phenomenal old industrial area that used to produce iron and steel in socialist days; the whole area is a powerful inferno of rusted steel and bricks: like the perfect back-drop for a metal band photo shoot.

Our venue, Gong, is an old titanic gas tank that has been rebuilt into a classy concert hall that holds 1500 people. We worried that we would struggle filling such a large venue, but our fears were allayed when we stepped on stage and were greeted by an enthusiastic audience filling the auditorium.

  You were amazing! I was very tired the evening you played, and I was falling asleep a little, but you waked me up through beautiful dreams… I would love to see you again in the Czech Republic :) (May be you would like another industrial space – Meetfactory in Prague.)
